Travel The organising committee would advise travellers to make a holiday of your visit, Cheddar is only 15 km from the coastline and attracts tourists from all over Europe and is popular with British holidaymakers. Bristol International Airport flies to Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Holland, Spain, Switzerland as well as other destinations, and is only 15 minutes drive from Cheddar. See www.bristolairport.co.uk Alternative airports are Cardiff 134km, Birmingham 173km, London Heathrow 225km, London Gatwick 290km, London Luton 272km, and London Stansted 315km. Other BMX Clubs There are 2 other tracks local to Cheddar. Bristol is just off junction 16 of the M5 and Burnham, which is less than 15km away. Both clubs will be hosting practice sessions in the week leading up to the European Championships. Check out both websites for information: www.bristolbombersbmx.com & www.burnhambmx.co.uk Directions Broadway House lies 18 miles South of Bristol on the A371, midway between Cheddar and Axbridge. From the North and Birmingham (M5), London and the East (M4) or South Wales (M4). All these motorways converge North of Bristol. Take the M5 South and exit at junction 22 (Burnham-On-Sea & Cheddar). Take the A38 towards Cheddar & Bristol for 5 miles then turn right onto the A371 towards Cheddar and Wells. After approximately 2 miles you will pass the 'Cheddar' sign. Broadway House is 300 yards further on the left. Public Transport. Buses to and from Weston-Super-Mare and Wells pass the Park entrance, as do buses from Bristol, although these are not so frequent. The nearest railway station is at Weston-Super-Mare. Accommodation Cheddar and Somerset are areas of outstanding beauty, so hotels are easy to come by, although early booking is recommended. Here is a selection of recommended tourism web sites: www.travelengland.org.uk www.visitbritain.com www.visitsouthwest.co.uk Recommended local areas to stay are: Burnham-On-Sea, Weston-Super-Mare and Wells. Broadway House is an excellent campsite with full facilities. www.broadwayhouse.uk.com Map of England showing Airports and the locality of Cheddar, Somerset.
