PRÉSENTATION DE L’ACID

L’ACID est une association de cinéastes créée en 1992 pour soutenir la diffusion du cinéma indépendant dans les salles de cinéma et organiser la rencontre entre les films, leurs auteurs et le public. Les cinéastes adhérents soutiennent 25 longs métrages chaque année. L’ACID a pour objectif l’exposition des films dans la durée, prioritairement dans les petites et moyennes villes, afin que tous les spectateurs puissent avoir accès aux œuvres. L’ACID promeut les films auprès des exploitants, programme dans plus de 350 salles indépendantes partenaires et organise des rencontres avec les équipes de films. Le même travail est effectué avec une centaine de festivals partenaires dans le monde entier ainsi que des universités. L’ACID c’est aussi de nombreuses actions en direction des publics : animation d’un réseau de spectateurs relais, édition de documents pédagogiques, organisation de projections scolaires... A Cannes, l’ACID a sa programmation au Festival International du Film depuis 1993. Les cinéastes y présentent 9 longs métrages français et internationaux, fictions et documentaires. Les choix des cinéastes sont guidés par la volonté de favoriser l’émergence mais aussi d’accompagner les auteurs dans la construction d’une œuvre ou le renouvellement de leur cinéma. Les films et leurs auteurs sont ensuite accompagnés toute l’année par l’ACID et ses cinéastes dans les différentes étapes de la diffusion en salles et en festivals (recherche de distributeur / promotion / programmation / accompagnement / travail sur les publics...). WHAT IS ACID ? ACID is an association of filmmakers created in 1992 in order to support the cinema distribution of independent films and organize encounters between the authors and the audiences. Each year, ACID filmmakers support 25 feature films. ACID aims to build the exposure of films over time, primarily in small and medium-sized cities, to ensure that all audiences have access to films. ACID promotes films among cinema programmers in over 350 independent venues and organizes Q&As with the films’s crews. The same actions are carried out throughout the year with a hundred festivals as well as universities worldwide. ACID also hosts a network of audience members, organizes screenings for schools, publishes educational documents and collaborates with many cultural associations. ACID has had its own programme at the Cannes International Film Festival since 1993. It screens nine feature films, fiction and documentary. Faithful to its founding principles, ACID encourages emerging authors and also supports more experienced filmmakers, following their work or the renewal of their cinema. The films shown in Cannes are then all year long accompanied by ACID and its filmmakers in the various stages of the theatrical release and in festivals (search for distributors / promotion / programming / organization of the Q&A’s / audience research).
