Le jour où je suis devenu un dinosaure The Day I Turned into a Dinosaur

19 x 24.5 cm - 256 pages - Softcover with flaps - 18.90€

Antoine Guilloppé

✦✦An Old Testament, excerpted from A Bible, is a unique way to rediscover our civilisation’s founding texts devoid of religious connotations ✦✦Philippe Lechermeier has rewritten episodes from the Old Testament in multiple, engaging literary styles ✦✦Rébecca Dautremer’s poignant gouache and Indian ink illustrations bring even more life to the story ✦✦A new, easier to read format ✦✦A New Testament will also be published in this format in 2017

21 x 29 cm - 32 pages - Hardcover, offset paper - 14€

✦✦A short and simple tale that introduces children to the dinosaurs ✦✦One more example of Antoine Guilloppé’s finely crafted illustrations accomplished with splendid precision ✦✦The fascinating world of dinosaurs that all children love as seen through the eyes of a baby T-Rex After months spent warm and snug in an egg, a tiny snout breaks the shell and… a baby is born! The baby dinosaur is ready to live his first days in the world. Where should he start? Where should he go? The Pterodactyls in the sky are fascinating and so are all the creatures walking around on the ground, even if they all seem so much bigger than he is! Where is his mother? Could it be that dinosaur with a long neck? Certainly not! Maybe that one there with the flippers then? No it isn’t. Step by step, he ventures carefully out into the jungle, but he doesn’t see the predator trying to catch him. Luckily Mom was nearby and from now on nothing will ever keep them apart.

From Genesis to the story of Jonas and the giant fish, this book aims to convey a universal message. Rediscover famous tales including the story of the tower of Babel, of David and Goliath and of Noa’s ark. The stories contained in this volume have been written in a manner that is exclusive of all religious backgrounds and can appeal to everyone. Philippe Lechermeier has successfully adapted the Old Testament stories to a more universal audience by skillfully alternating multiple literary styles, including storytelling, poetry, song, enumerations, short philosophical texts, plays, and novellike narrations. Rébecca Dautremer has filled the volume with bold, innovative and thoughtful representations. She offers us a profoundly humanistic vision which leaves room for everyone’s personal beliefs. All who read this book can come away with a greater understanding of our commonalities and shared heritage.

She waited and waited but her prince still hadn’t come. Her mother told her to be patient and make herself pretty for the big day. But when the day finally arrived, what a disappointment the prince turned out to be! The princess thought his breath smelled like pickles and realised that he only desired to make her a housewife… how terrible! After rebuffing him, the princess decided that she would no longer simply sit around waiting for a prince, but rather, she would take matters into her own hands. She set off to lead a more fulfilling life and live her own adventures. And so, among other things she caught a dragon, fought an ogre and won a tournament of knights. Will the princess ever find a prince that suits her?

The forest animals have decided to play hide and seek. But who is going to count? The koala volunteers: one, two, three… Watch out, here he comes! The koala opens his eyes wide and looks behind a tree, then another, then one more. He looks behind stumps, under the leaves and under rocks, but his friends are nowhere to be seen! Where have they all gone? And what is that menacing shadow that keeps growing bigger and bigger?

23 x 33 cm - 40 pages - Hardcover - 14.95€

23 X 26.5 CM - 40 PAGES - HARDCOVER - 12€

✦✦A young boy and girl travel across the American West at the beginning of the 20th century ✦✦With the girl’s help and fortuitous encounters along the way, the young hero will follow his dream to participate in a big kite festival and learn to tame the wind ✦✦Spectacular illustrations which take readers on a far away voyage

Bernard Villiot • Thibault Prugne

✦✦A truly extravagant, fast-paced story served with colourful illustrations ✦✦All the ingredients of a traditional fairy tale but with a modern archduchess who is not afraid to take matters into her own hands

El Loco, the old madman, has just passed away in his old barn. The townsfolk believe the barn is haunted because on windy days screams seem to escape from it. In spite of these rumours, the young Sam ventures into El Loco’s barn and finds an unexpected treasure: hundreds of kites of all sizes, colours and shapes. But some men set fire to the barn and Sam only has time to save one, a kite shaped like a dragon, with the help of a young woman named Sarah. They also discover that El Loco dreamed of going to the yearly kite festival in the neighbouring state. Sam becomes fascinated with the kite and decides to honour El Loco’s wish, and Sarah offers to help him get there. They set off across the dizzyingly open plains on a journey which will take readers on a surprising voyage to a far away place. However, to control the kite Sam will need to learn how to tame the wind. Who will teach him now that El Loco is gone, and how will he manage to learn in such a short time?

Once upon a time, there was an archduchess who lived in her castle with her little husband. But that unfortunate lady was always cold. Until she discovered socks! Not only is she no longer cold, but she has also found a new hobby, a passion, an obsession! You can understand her consternation when two-by-two all her socks start to vanish. What’s more, local children have also started disappearing, which makes it all the more troubling. Since the archduke doesn’t seem all that concerned, the archduchess will solve this mystery on her own! She will save her precious socks and the kids as well, even if it means going up against her husband’s nemesis: the Grey Witch! -------------------------------World rights available -------------------------------HUMOUR • IMAGINATION • BEDTIME STORIES

Every morning, the old, blind lute player sits in the shade of the medina and plays his instrument to sooth the hearts of passing men and women. Across the street, a group of troublemakers search for a way to alleviate their boredom. One day, the leader among them suggests they play a trick on the lute player. They invite him to a party and he follows them unsuspectingly. However, the miscreants lead him to a deserted part of the city where they have him play all evening before abandoning him there when night falls. As he sits lost and alone, he hears the tinkling of bracelets worn by the seven daughters of the jinn king. Thanks to these seven magical sisters, the lute player will experience a dream-like night that will change his life and enable him to pass on his talent to all those around him, including the most incorrigible of scoundrels…

Nothing is as it should be at the Opera! The great chandelier comes crashing down during a performance injuring a machinist. The diva who plays Marguerite in Faust quits under mysterious circumstances. Could the phantom of the opera be behind these catastrophes? Does he even exist? The opera calls on the young cantatrice Christine Daaé to replace the diva. On stage she interprets Marguerite splendidly, but voices at night terrify her. She tells Viscount Raoul de Chagny, who is secretly in love with her, of the nightly terrors: someone calling out to her in the dark and an unseen presence in her dressing room. She and Raoul attempt to find out more about the phantom of the opera when, suddenly, Christine disappears. Raoul searches desperately for her, but soon begins to wonder if she has fallen for this mysterious and strange rival. Who is really hiding behind the phantom of the opera’s mask?

Of the two, Dune is the fiery one. They may be twins but they aren’t by any means identical: Flame is calm and thoughtful. He always pays attention to what he is doing, and Chocotte, his blanky, never leaves his side. Dune on the contrary is overly full of energy, she is mischievous and bossy, and she has a talent for getting on Flame’s nerves! These two very different characters, however, share the same love for adventure. They have a secret tree house where they can let their imaginations run wild. And even if they argue sometimes, they always make up in the end!

2. Strange Paw Prints It snowed all night and outside all is quiet and white. Dune excitedly wakes Flame so they can go play in the snow and race to their tree house. Snow can be used for so many things! Dune makes snowstars while Flame makes snowballs. They soon come across strange paw prints in the snow. Dune and Flame have no problem recognising those left by birds and rabbits, but who could have left these strange paw prints? Dune is sure they belong to a Kigalo, a purple, yellow and pink African bird. Dune and Flame are determined to solve this mystery. They will have to rely on all their creativity and wits to find the Kigalo!

1. Hurray for Wind! One morning as the wind blows outside, the twins Dune and Flame race each other to their secret tree house. The winner will get to pick the first game of the day! Flame has a good start and pulls far ahead of Dune, who is having a hard time running against the wind. But then, Flame falls down blinded by a scar borne in the wind. Whose scarf could it be? What about the hat that blows by as well? Isn’t that Mr Ruffled Bear riding his bike with a trailer over there? Maybe he can help them reach their tree house.

3. The Frozen Lake This morning the lake is completely frozen. It’s wonderful weather for ice skating! The twins join their friends on the lake for a big race. Dune skates like the wind and crosses the finish line first! Unfortunately the referee wasn’t paying attention... The feisty little fox, however, won’t give up so easily!

To overcome all the small challenges, Ben has a super trick: he transforms into SuperBen! This ritual helps him rise above his fears and preconceived notions and helps him grow by bringing out the best in him. Ben, with whom all children will be able to identify, lives each day as an adventure and transforms his day-to-day problems into superhero missions. He can always count on his parents for help, but especially on SuperLoulou, his blanky. --------------------------------------------Rights sold: Chinese (Simplified) ---------------------------------------------

1. BEN, SUPERHERO IN THE DARK In bed at night, Ben is often afraid of the dark and of the monsters hiding in it. Even after his father explains that monsters don’t exist, Ben can still hear them growling in his room. Wanting proof, he musters all of his courage and embarks on his mission: to investigate every odd noise. Soon he begins to realise that hiding behind each strange sound is a not so strange explanation… 2. BEN, SUPER POLITE SUPERHERO Ben doesn’t always feel like saying thank you. Even when Mom’s friend gives him a great book of magic spells! Before going to bed, he studies them all carefully, impatient to try them in the morning. But the next day it’s a catastrophe, his glass of water refuses to transform into a glass of milk. What if being polite were the magic phrase? 3. BEN, SUPERHERO WITHOUT A DUMMY Some mornings Ben would prefer to stay in bed rather than listen to what the adults have to say. Especially when they want to take away his dummy! How will he get over it? With the help of SuperLoulou, Ben decides to grow up; so he organises a secret party to say goodbye to his dummies. 4. BEN, SUPERHERO WITH A BIG HEART One morning, on his way to school Ben finds a figurine of a knight. He picks it up and takes good care of it. Now it belongs to him. “Does it really though?” his mother asks. The toy certainly already belonged to someone. Ben will have to be very courageous and find the person to whom the figurine belonged and return it… because in life we give in order to receive.
