Disassembly Procedure Please follow the information provided in this section to perform the complete disassembly procedure of the notebook. Be sure to use proper tools described before.

SUS UL30VT Series Notebook consists of various modules. This chapter describes the procedures for the complete notebook disassembly. In addition, in between procedures, the detailed disassembly procedure of individual modules will be provided for your service needs.

Battery Module The illustration below shows how to remove the battery module. Remove Battery Module
Open latch 1 and hold the latch 2 when take the battery away.

HDD Module The illustrations below show how to remove the HDD module from the notebook. Remove HDD Module
1. Remove 3 screws on HDD cover. Lift up the HDD cover and take it away. Then pull out the HDD module from the HDD compartment.

2. Remove 4 screws to separate HDD from HDD housing. Remove 4 screws on the HDD housing and separate the HDD from its housing.

Memory Module The illustrations below show how to remove the memory module from the notebook. Remove Memory Module
1. Remove 2 screws securing the DIMM cover and remove the DIMM cover. Tear off the DIMM mylar. Then pry the latches of the memory modules. Pull out the memory from its slot.

Keyboard Module The illustrations below show how to remove the Keyboard. Remove the Keyboard
1. Open 4 latches (ESC, F5, F12, End) on keyboard module by a pair of tweezers or a plastic blade.
2. Turn over the keyboard plate, tear off the tape and disconnect the keyboard FPC and remove the keyboard plate.

1. Disconnect the power switch FPC, hotkey FPC and the touchpad FPC. Remove 11 screws on the top case.

2. Remove 12 screws on the bottom case. Pry the edges of the top case by a plastic blade then take off the top case from the system.

3. Remove 2 screws on the power switch board and the hotkey board. Remove the power switch board and the hotkey board.

1. Remove the 2 hinge caps. Disconnect the LVDS cable, 2IN1 cable, Bluetooth cable and speaker cable. Remove 3 screws on the motherboard.

4. Remove 9 screws on the CPU thermal module. Then disconnect the fan cable. Remove the thermal module.

1. Remove 4 screws on 2 hinges of the LCD module. Release the antennas from the guide hooks of the bottom case. Then lift up the LCD module and take it away.
