Chapter 4, lesson 6 Once upon a time, lived a boy whose name was Tom. Although he was ten years old, Tom was only one foot tall. Nevertheless, he was the bravest boy in the kingdom. That is why the king asked him to look for the princess when she disappeared while she was riding her unicorn. Tom was very proud to be in charge of finding the princess and he took the matter very much at heart so, without wasting time, he went to the forest, to the very spot where the princess was last seen. On the ground, he found hoof prints and he decided to follow them. Tom walked for a very long time and finally found the unicorn lying on the ground. However, the princess was not there. After examining the scene, Tom noticed the unicorn’s horn was cut off. « Who could have done such a horrible thing? » Tom thought. As Tom was thinking about what to do next, he heard somebody approaching. Remember, Tom was very small, therefore he could hide almost anywhere, and that is what he did. Well hidden behind a flower, he could see who was coming, whereas the woman could not see him.
