ORAL PRESENTATIONS

Dear students, Please read the following information carefully to avoid confusion later. Thank you! All method INFO : anglaiscpge.free.fr

1- Feedback folder I have asked each student to buy a folder in which to put all the colle evaluation sheets so that there can be better continuity between colles. At the beginning of the colle, give the colleur the folder so they can see what you had been asked to work on by the previous colleur and check that work has been done/effort been made. Important : should you forget your own folder – teachers have been requested by me to deduct 5 points from your presentation mark. 2- Organisation of an hour (example 17.00-18.00) - Student 1 : home preparation, unlimited time. With all teachers, prepare a text given in class or chosen on the website. With M.DELABY, prepare an audio from the CCP 2018 database on the website. Presentation at 17.00. - Student 2 : preparation at 17.00, for 20 minutes only. Presentation at 17.20 (at the beginning of 1st year, teachers understand the limited quality of your work and will start a discussion with you after your presentation). If the teacher is present before 17.00, feel free to come earlier. - Student 3 : preparation at 17.20 or earlier if you wish. Presentation at 17.40. End at 18.00 (next group). 3- Different exercises during an oral presentation Mr Delaby : audio, video and text files, specific exercises All other teachers : texts only (500 to 700 words, generally off-topic) Make sure that Student 1 is not always the same student, so that everyone gets to prepare at home every three times. When students get to see Mr DELABY, Student 1 prepares an audio file at home. Students 2 and 3 will prepare a text or audio file. Always bring headphones (no Bluetooth) when you have a colle with me. 4- Time A simple rule : always be on time. No teacher can afford being late, no student has to suffer from the consequences of somebody else being late. If you happened to be late, you might be sent out and the marking would automatically be 0/20. There is no catching-up session in that case, teachers cannot make time, unless they accept to catch up with you. 5- Marks and remarks, recap forms You will be requested to fill in the form that recaps the previous colles (see next page) : improvements, difficulties (language, method). Do this recap very seriously, for it will show the extent of your work. The marks may be low, particularly at the beginning of the school year, do not worry about it too much. Try to focus on the remarks rather than simply on the marking. The only mark that counts is the last one ! Occasionally, I might replace the colles by a specific training session in order to help you keep up the good work. Expect one or two sessions during the 1st school year (MPSI, PCSI), and one only during the second school year (MP*, PC*, PSI).

IN CONCLUSION

- feedback folder : remember to bring it at all times. - student 1 prepares at home, and makes the presentation first, student 2 and 3 have limited -

prep time. Work on texts with all colleurs except Mr Delaby, who will work on the audio/ video format. http://anglaiscpge.free.fr/colles : all resources are to be found there. never (ever) be late ! recap form to fill in. Occasional specific training sessions for all students with me.
