When he was 12, Miguel and his friends attended their first funk ball (a nightclub where they play music that brings out brutal behaviours from the crowd) in the favelas of Macacos. Despite this violent introduction to the club scene, Miguel found a love for high energy atmosphere, and eventually, for performance.
Jessica Nascimento Dancer
Jessica Nascimento began dancing at an early age and is inspired by the ongoing quest for technical improvement. Waking up at 4 a.m. in her Rio suburb, taking several buses to be at the rehearsal studio by 9 a.m., Nascimento proves to be not only dedicated but disciplined as well. While her mother offers tremendous support, her father still refuses to acknowledge her career. Nascimento finds that despite her father’s opposition, dance is her life and she would not want to be doing anything else.

Jessica Nascimento a commencé à danser dès son plus jeune âge, et elle cherche constamment à s’améliorer sur le plan technique. Chaque matin, elle se léve à quatre heures dans le faubourg de Rio où elle habite, prend l’autobus et, après plusieurs changements, arrive vers neuf heures au studio de répétition. Having worked as a baker, lifeguard, gardener, and mason’s helper, Rocha started his dance career from humble beginnings, to say the least. With the support of his father, Rocha grew up with the idea that if he were to follow his dreams, the doors would eventually open for him. Following his father’s advice to be the best he could be, Rocha began studying capoeira, and found the necessary means to accomplish his goals.

Encouragé par son père, il a grandi avec la conviction que s’il suivait ses rêves, les portes finiraient bien par s’ouvrir. Fidèle aux conseils de son père qui lui disait de toujours donner le meilleur de lui-même, il a commencé à s’initier à la capoeira et s’est donné ainsi les moyens d’atteindre ses objectifs.
