Rennes, October 31, 2006 Dear

friends and ministry partners,

I hope that you are doing well. We have left you without news for two months and apologize. The fall agenda was very full. It's with joy that we are writing to you today because we have several encouraging things to share and several projects to entrust to your prayers. After the reunions with last year's students coming back in September, we did a big poster campaign on every Rennes campus, which was fruitful. For the fall barbecue in October at Gayeulles parc, we had 32 people including a dozen new ones.

Barbecue, Weekends, Soirée de Noël During cinediscussions on Monday evenings, we gather an average of seven people including a few non Christian students. Like last year, we show a few movie excerpts followed by discussions, and this year by a little sharing based on biblical verses. The Gospel message has already been clearly explained by comments on the excerpts or testimonies given by several Christian students. Let's pray especially for Anaïs, Nils, Célia, Samuel and Rachel, that they will continue their spiritual quest and that the Holy Spirit touches their heart giving them thirst for a relationship with God and the forgiveness offered in Jesus. Let's pray also for Kevin, Raphaël, Elsa, Hélène, Jean, Adama, Rachel, Alexandra, Karl, Pierre, Jonathan and Estelle, the Christian students involved, for them to draw always closer to the Lord and take opportunities to share their faith. Mid-October, we had our fall weekend retreat “In the Potter's hands.” During the discussions, the walks and the biblical sharing on Saturday morning, we touched on topics of God's work in us, our reactions in the midst of trials or difficulties in life, Christian maturity… For Saturday lunch, several had the opportunity to have big discussions with two non Christian students who joined us. One of the committed students was involved this summer in an outreach campaign using surveys on the topics of “Ethics”, “Priorities in life” and “Love”. During one of our student leader meetings, she proposed using them to share our faith on the campuses. We thought the idea was excellent. We touched up the wording to adapt them to students and plan a November outreach. The idea is to survey a maximum of students, then to invite them to an evening during which we'll present survey results, make remarks and try to show recorded interviews of different people, student or not, on the same topics.

Like each fall, we also did minisurveys at the student cafeteria exits (three or four little questions). We are stunned each year a little bit more 21 (12.13%) by the few spiritual references when answering the question “Do you have religious beliefs?” Out of 173 people surveyed, 122 claimed not to have 5 (2.89%) any religious beliefs. The good news is that 64 people answered that they 1 (0.58%) would be willing to respond to the November surveys mentioned above, 10 (5.78%) 18 expressed interest in being informed of our events and eight gospels were distributed. We will continue these minisurveys. Please pray that 1 (0.58%) this helps to make the group known and make contact with students 1 (0.58%) who have interest in spiritual questions. 1 (0.58%)

Note: these statistics don't claim to be representative of the population, even the student population.

On the family side, Gabrielle loves preschool. She goes to school two morning a week, and likes to tell us about “maîtresse (teacher) Solange” and her friend Marie. Zacharie “plays with the big boys now” in first grade, and is learning to read. He is curious about everything, intelligent, and makes his parents and grandparents proud. This year he has homework about every day. Sharing with Gabrielle the little table couldn't cut it any longer. So we bought for him a desk worthy of the title, in addition to a new school bag. Zacharie also inherited Daddy's venerable desk chair, after 17 years of good and loyal services. And Daddy got a new chair, that Zacharie and Gabrielle love to try together!

Thank you so much for your faithfulness at our sides. We are so blessed by you, through your gifts, prayers, and signs of friendship and affection. With you to touch students in France,
