“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind; and Love your neighbor as yourself.” (Luke 10:27)

Dear friends and partners, “The word neighbor does not only mean the ones with whom we have acquaintanceship, but all men without exception, since the whole humankind makes a body, from which being members, it is

necessary that we would be bound and united together mutually, as this point must be resolute that we must help and support the most stranger of the world, like our own flesh.” (Jean Calvin, Commentary on the book of Exodus, Ex 22:25, p. 428 – quick translation by Yannick Chiron)

-> European conference Every four to six years, we gather with all our European colleagues for a week. In July, we thus met in Switzerland for a refreshing and encouraging time. We praised God hearing all the testimonies of his actions everywhere in Europe. We were also able to participate in a variety of workshops to enrich each other with our experiences on tools and approaches toward evangelism, on interchurch collaboration, on current Western sociology, and many other topics, to be always more sensitive and pertinent in our ways of connecting with our fellow citizens from the 21st century. Please pray for this with us for all our Churches.

It was also a great joy to see again colleagues who once served with us in Rennes and now are elsewhere…

-> Interchurch meetings 1) Regional meeting of the National Council of Evangelicals in France (CNEF): September 20, the representatives of Churches and Missions from three regions including Brittany are invited to meet in Rennes at our Agapé/Cru-France office. I will represent Agapé there. These meetings take place about once a trimester. It is an occasion to share and pray together following a time of fasting, in order to get to know one another better and come together before the Lord to listen. 2) Regional meeting of the French Protestant Federation: September 27, I organize and lead this meeting for Churches and Missions from Brittany affiliated with the FPF. It is a time to share about diverse topics, get to know one another better, enrich one another from our experiences, and facilitate joint outreaches when possible. After our last meeting where we shared on the topic of welcoming migrants in our Churches, we will this time address the topic of communication with public figures. Let's pray that these two meetings continue to be a blessing to the pastors and missionaries, and that it would produce beautiful fruit in our lives, our Churches, and our evangelism.

-> Fall 2018: Focus on evangelism For this school year with our colleagues, after having taken time to pray together, we chose to put an accent on evangelism with multiple small outreach actions. Please pray for us, that we would be creative, bold and at the same time sensitive, and above all filled with the Holy Spirit. We will also invite friends from our Churches to join us to participate and profit from these opportunities to share their faith. We will keep you posted on this all year long.

Zacharie is leaving the cozy family nest to start his studies in Politics, Philosophy and Economy at Lancaster University, UK. A bit heart-wrenching for dad and mom, and great excitement for Zacharie who is spreading his wings toward unknown territory to conquer, his studies in the land of Mr Bean. (Coming from the country of gourmet food, let's just hope that it won't be: “Beans for breakfast, beans for lunch, beans for supper time, all the month!”) Gabrielle is entering high school and 10th grade, in International section with many of her courses in the language of Shakespeare. Nathanaël is starting 2nd grade. Apparently, he is hesitating between careers as a knight, a cowboy, or a YouTuber…

With you to make Jesus-Christ known,

Yannick
