Story: Neil Desai is having a ‘Quarterlife Crisis’. He’s clueless, indecisive, and overwhelmed too many choices and not enough time. He hates his dead-end job designing Internet pop up ads for erectile dysfunction meds. But the money’s good and he’s just been offered a promotion. He wants sometime to sample the ‘variety of life’ to know for sure, his college sweetheart Angel thinks six years is long enough and wants a commitment NOW. His posse of four loser friends would rather he dump Angel and party on forever. Neil’s misses a romantic dinner-for-two with Angel on his 27th birthday (he’s out drinking with the boys). It was a small and silly misunderstanding, but for Angel it’s the last straw. She gives him the ultimate of ultimatums – commit or leave. Predictably Neil jumps ship and moves back to his posse’s pad in Brooklyn. On the cab ride over Neil meets Dilip, a nosey chatty suave limodriver dispensing advice about love and life freely without being asked for it. To top it off Dilip tells Neil he has just won one week’s free limo service in Dilip’s limo! Back in Brooklyn the posse is thrilled to have their cash cow back, especially minus Angel, the ball-and-chain. They are united in one aim – getting Neil to be rid of Angel for good. The posse challenges Neil to silly bet with Jonathan – winner takes all in three consecutive dates with the same girl in one week. Neil, sucker that he is, accepts. And for the next week Neil goes on a wild madcap ride through New York’s singles scene – from bars and charity balls, to speed-dating soirees and Halloween parties. The driver through this screwball plan? Dilip, now transformed into an unlikely cupid-cum-confidante-cum-mentor. In one hysterically funny week Neil runs into every size, shape and preferences of the opposite sex – wrestlers, existential types, fairies, belly-dancing club hoppers, trust fund lovelies, IM’ing secret admirers and more. The futility of dating, and having too many choices is abundantly clear. But for Neil the week’s madcap adventures are really a journey to manhood. And just as he is finally clear on what he wants from life, he discovers Dilip is no innocent limodriver – his wild scheming ulterior motive is about to do Neil in for good. These and other twists make QuarterLife Crisis a hip, offbeat, rip-roaringly hilarious, and sexy romantic comedy.
