Adder™161 extension

TD161 16-Channel 20-Bit Audio/Data Tap/Drop Distribution Network Features • Taps, Drops & Repeats • Two of 16 Selectable audios • Two high-speed RS422 datas • Two GPI closure interfaces • Low cost, high performance • Wideband 20-bit digital audio • Uses the Adder 161 head end • Fiber & coax split outputs

Distributes, splits & repeats sixteen audios, two data signals and two GPI closure interfaces over one optical fiber and/or a 75Ω coaxial cable The Adder TD161 is the low cost network solution for the widely used Adder 161 audio, data and control multiplexer. Using the Adder 161TX as the head end, the TD161 permits you to network sixteen audio channels, two data/control signals and two GPI switch closure interfaces to any number of receive nodes. All you need is a single optical fiber, or one ordinary 75Ω coaxial cable, or some combination of each. Signals remain clean, distances increase, and labor costs decrease.

Transparent Transmission The TD161 maintains full signal bandwidth and integrity over distances to 10 km on fiber optic cable, or up to 1,000 feet on coaxial cable. Fiber cable electrically isolates, and eliminates problems of ground faults and lightning. Fiber cable also eliminates all types of electromagnetic and radio frequency interference (EMI/RFI). No clicks; no pops; no crosstalk; and no hum.

Audio/Data Network With the Adder 161 transmitter, the TD161, digital network can be configured as an in-line, multidrop bus, and split at any point. Anywhere from one to a million nodes can be fed from a single Adder 161 TX unit (based on splits and 20 devices in a row). The parallel fiber/coaxial input/ output ports facilitate route "branching" or dual redudant path protection (TD161 units automatically switch over to backup input in the event of a primary path loss.)

Dial up Two of Sixteen Select the desired pair of audio channels (any of 8 Left/Right audio pairs), and use the general purpose closure interfaces plus high speed data channel outputs for control. Insert the Adder 161RX receiver at any point where all 16 audio channels (plus control/data) are needed at the same time.

• Expandable to a million nodes • Redundant coax/fiber input

20-Bit Audio

• Auto switchover protection

Flat, Wide and Quiet

• New easy access barrier plugs

Telecast's digital Adder 161 transmits sixteen (16) channels of outstanding audio—flat (± 0.2 dB) from 5 Hz to 25 kHz. The TD161 received signal to noise is better than 102 dB unweighted.

Portable or Fixed Only Telecast fiber systems can operate in demanding worldwide outdoor environments—from -40° to +65°C. The power efficient TD161 consumes less than 10 watts and runs cool. It needs no fans or wiring harnesses—everything is built in and simple to set up. It operates on either AC or 12 to 24 VDC, including batteries. An internal alarmed UPS supply keeps the TD161 operating in the event of power fluctuations or failure.

• 25 kHz, 102+ dB audio • Up to 30 km/node range • Small indoor/outdoor unit • 12 to 24 VDC input power • Internal UPS supply • Power efficient—no fans

Applications • Pro-audio distribution • Distributed TV/press feeds • Multi-lingual translations • Live Sound & PA systems • Stadiums, Malls & Airports • Emergency Paging Systems
