Manufacturer and developer of solutions for digital television reception : Digital Set-top boxes pour satellite and cable, PCMCIA conditional access modules.

Mission :

Management and co-ordination of the Research and Development team. Creation of a Product Marketing department within Aston France. Market research and future product roadmap definition.

Responsibilities :  Product and solutions strategy definition in conjunction with sales and marketing.  Management of the Product Development department ( 12 people )  Project management.  Creation of the Product Marketing division within Aston France.  Design, installation and content supervision of the Aston Intranet web site.  Establishing and collaborating with future technical partnerships.  Marketing documentation : Datasheets, Manuals and brochures. 1997-2002

Hardware Development Director, Netgem, Neuilly sur Seine FRANCE Activity : Manufacturer of the 1st Internet set top box in Europe called the Netbox which was used by ON Digital for their ON Net service and the first ever interactive Digital Terrestrial Television decoder, the Netgem I - Player. Mission : Management and co-ordination of the Hardware Research and Development team (7 people) with the goal of producing a range of products whilst respecting the time to market and cost price targets defined by management Responsibilities :  Coordination of the Hardware Research and Development team in collaboration with the managers of the teams associated with the projects ( Marketing, Production, Software ).  Project direction in collaboration with project managers.  Supervision of compliance engineering subcontractors ( for the CE mark and international PTT approvals )  Analysis and evaluation of new technologies for future generations of products.  Definition of hardware system architectures.  Principal contact for industrial designers ( Case styling, CAD phases and production ).  Weekly reporting to the Vice President of Products and Solutions on the activity of the hardware R & D team.

Responsibilities :  Definition of the technical specification.  Design and development of the digital and analogue systems of the product.  Sub project management of the touch screen in collaboration with sub contractors.  Design of the battery fast charge sub system.  Preparation of product for mass production.

1984-1992

Product range design manager , Psion PLC , London : 500 employees Activity : Pioneer and one time market leader in handheld computing solutions. Mission and achievements : Development of the world’s first Personal Digital Assistant, the Psion Organiser 2 and its associated peripherals. Responsibilities :  Design of the digital and analogue systems of the Psion Organiser 2 and its external modules ( memory cards, periperhals )  Peripheral design for the Psion Series 3 product range.  Liaison and coordination of the manufacturing sites and sub contractors.  In circuit production test systems for the Psion Series 3  Participation in the development of an electronic cash register for Marks and Spencer.  Participation in the hardware design of the Psion Organiser I and the production test equipment.


