PC‐Driver Installation/FW Update v2.x    Go to extranetdentale.cefla.it, download the latest PC‐Driver version from   “ProductsÆRadiologyÆHyperionÆSoftware”.

The .zip archive contains three files:  ‐ Myray‐upd‐patch‐sd.zip (Update communication patch – SD card version, for use with  SD Card reader on Hyperion’s consolle)  ‐ Myray‐upd‐patch‐usb.zip (Update communication patch – USB version, for USB key on  mainboard’s unused USB connector)  ‐ Myray_hyperion.exe (PC‐Driver and updated firmware)    IMPORTANT ‐ Please check that all the following conditions are satisfied before proceeding  with firmware update:  ‐ You have a backup of the machine’s calibration data.  ‐ The column is high enough to remove the power board’s cover.  ‐ Pc‐Driver is green (connected/ready) and Hyperion’s IP address is set to factory default  (192.168.1.160)  ‐ Hyperion is directly connected to the PC you’ll use for firmware update with a cross  ethernet cable. Please avoid using Hubs/Switches  ‐ If you are using a laptop make sure you’re connected to the mains power supply, do  not use just the battery power. Make sure the laptop does not enter standby/freeze  status while doing the update.

Follow the instructions below before starting the firmware update:

Disconnecting  the emergency button  Before starting the firmware update you should disconnect the emergency button cable from  the power board (97660602).  Lift the column, remove the power board cover and disconnect the emergency button plug  from connector K5.

Now you should short‐circuit the two pins in connector K5. You can do it easily by using a  jumper cap as shown below. Remember to put the cable connector back in place after  completing the firmware update.

Update communication patch installation  Uncompress the contents of “Myray‐upd‐patch‐sd.zip” in the root folder of a formatted SD  card. The root folder of the SD card must contain a single folder named  “myray”.  Turn off Hyperion, insert the SD card in the reader on the consolle an turn on Hyperion again,  wait about 3 minutes for the update to complete.   You will see the message “E005 – system not started”.  Turn off Hyperion and remove the SD card.  If the patch was applied correctly a file named “patch_applied” will be created in the “myray”  folder. If the file is not created the patch was not applied correctly. Please repeat patch  installation.    Now you can turn the machine on and verify that the connection with the PC is still working  (green PC‐Driver icon).    P.S. You can perform the same procedure on a formatted USB stick, using the file “Myray‐upd‐ patch‐usb.zip” and connecting the stick to the unused USB connector on the  mainboard(97660604‐see picture below).

PC‐Driver installation  – Firmware update  Now you can start the new PC‐Driver installation. At the end of the installation the PC‐Driver  icon will turn grey and you will be asked to start the firmware update. Confirm to start the  firmware update.  Press “Start update” and follow the on‐screen instructions to start the update. You will need to  turn Hyperion off and back on to start the update of each board that needs upgrading. The  procedure takes about forty minutes to complete.

After completing the update you will be asked to confirm the serial numbers, answer “Yes”  and press “Ok” (see picture below) to finish the procedure and get the machine back to normal  operating status.
