Greenhouse Gas Hypothesis Violates Fundamentals of Physics May 24, 2010 John O'Sullivan
Science author Heinz Thieme and 130 German scientists refute the greenhouse gas theory as an explanation of the mechanism of Earth's climate.
Thieme explains why he and his colleagues are adamantly opposed to the theory in his debunk, ‘On the Phenomenon of Atmospheric Backradiation.' Like other scientifically qualified German sceptics, Thieme attacks what he sees as the commonly held misconceptions about the climatic relevance of carbon dioxide (CO2) and other so-called greenhouse gases adhered to by a number of influential climatologists and world leaders. Thieme and his colleagues argue there has been a failure to grasp some of the fundamentals of physics by a few climate scientists influential within the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). Since the Climategate revelations of November 2009 this small group of government climatologists Thieme refers to have been under fire for 'fudging' data and displaying political advocacy rather than scientific rigor.
130 German Scientists Refute Greenhouse Gas Theory The respected German engineer, with 130 other sceptic German scientists, co-signed the Open Letter of protest to German Chancellor Angela Merkel (2009). Among other things, these sceptics stated that a 'Growing body of evidence shows anthropogenic CO2 plays no measurable role' in Earth’s climate.’ The scientists declared that global warming has become a “pseudo religion” and they noted that rising CO2 has “had no measurable effect” on temperatures and also that the “UN IPCC has lost its scientific credibility.”
Thieme, like his esteemed German colleagues, is opposed to the misrepresentation of the basic laws of physics which, it is claimed,

contradict the greenhouse gas theory.
Greenhouse Gases No Cause of Thermal Effect The German analyst argues that within the troposphere no backradiation can be caused by so-called greenhouse gases.Therefore, he argues, it is not at all correct to speak of a thermal effect of these gases on the biosphere. Pointedly, NASA now seems to tacitly agree on this matter; as it no longer shows any more such "backradiation" in its relevant graphic representation of the energy budget of the Earth. Thus, Thieme and colleagues more confidently assert that the thermal conditions in Earth's and any atmosphere are determined by its pressure and the mass of its main components. Higher concentrations of atmospheric CO2 - at least until they reached 2% (a 60-fold increase) and thus became injurious to health - would endanger neither the climate nor mankind.
Greenhouse Gas Terminology Incorrect Sceptics like Thieme argue that to avoid further misunderstanding, the terms 'greenhouse effect’ and ‘greenhouse gases’ should be avoided in describing the functioning of the atmosphere as there is no correlation between the affects seen in a greenhouse and that perceived in the atmosphere. He states, “It is completely incomprehensible and unjustified to imagine that mankind can or must protect the climate by attempting to control trace amounts of CO2.” Sceptics of the greenhouse gas theory insist that the warmer such gases become the more quickly they convey heat away (via convection) from Earth's surface toward space. Thus, we may conclude that all objects above 0 degrees Kelvin radiate; that there is no heat transfer from a cooler body (i.e. Earth’s troposphere) to a warmer body (Earth's surface).
