Education: Petroleochemical Engineer, Docteur es Sciences (PhD - Doctorat d'Etat). Sciences (Chemistry and Physics) at the University of Marseilles and accomplished part of his PhD in the same University but also at St Francis Xavier University in Canada. Today activities Professor University Aix Marseille III – Paul Cézanne Evaluator of the European Community Program (Information Society) Expert near the Cour d'Appel d'Aix en Provence Member of the editorial board of various international journals Member of various national consultative commissions for Competitive Intelligence (France) Member of the Steering Committee of Competitive Intelligence in Provence Alpes Côte d’Azur (France) Consultant Career: After 20 years as a researcher at CNRS (French National Research Centre) as Director of Research, he leaves this Institution and becomes Professor at the University of Aix-Marseilles III in Information Sciences. He is part of the French group of people who developed the concept of Competitive Technical Intelligence in France. He is now Director of the CRRM a Research and Educational Centre which mainly focuses its activities on post graduate Master Research and PhD in Competitive Intelligence and Competitive Technical intelligence, and postdoctoral programs. Continuing Education. Long Life and Distance Learning are also a strong activity at CRRM., mainly within the framework of the first year of the Master Research in Competitive Intelligence and Technology Watch.(New Technology for the development of SMEs), and the second year of the same Master (Brazil, Indonesia, China, Malaysia, Europe). Henri Dou was also "chargé de mission" at the Central Direction of the CNRS, and Secretary Executive of the Rhône Poulenc - CNRS commission which was one of the first experiments of the interchange between research and industry. Scientific Secretary of the MIT-CNRS Symposium, he conducted a survey of the development of coal research in the United States for the French Government after the first petroleum crisis as well as for the UNESCO in Poland. He also represented the France at the Oceanographic International Commission in Thailand and in the USA. He was a member of the Scientific Council of the CNIC. (Centre National de l'Information Chimique), Director of an Advanced Research Institute of NATO in 1984 and in 1987-88 Secretary of the Chemical Information Network (ChIN) of the UNESCO (head quarter in Yugoslavia). During 10 years, he was also consultant for SDC ORBIT (System Development Corporation) one of the most important American host in online access to scientific information. He was a Member of the Inter-ministerial Commission of the Elaborated Information, He is President of the SFBA (French Society of Applied Bibliometrics) and Member of the Advisory Board of various international journals and of the Network of the Mediterranean Centres for Multimedia Education (UNESCO approval). He followed the Session of IHEDN (Institut des Hautes Etudes de la Défense Nationale) in Provence Alpes Côte d’Azur in 1985.
