I really need the ability to tuck it under my belt, or button it into a becket. This will hang in a "standard" cup hook too. And there's not much room under my belt for big knottery. I tried it, but the "mid-span" knottery acts like a wedge & the keys work their way out. I'm not being fussy, just pragmatic. Part of the "secret" of the "trick" is the sharp shoulder on the terminal knob. Here's another "trick": 1- Take up the ring.
2- Catch the knob in your pinkie.
3- Sort the keys.
4- Grip firmly.
