Start with shaping the gathers of the front pieces N°1, starting 6cm from the edge of the neckline side. Spread them evenly up to the gathers mark on the pattern. The gathers can be shaped with the help of the sewing machine, setting it on a long stitch. The gathers stitch will be later hidden by the 2 front pieces stitched together.
Sew along the flat fabric and leave extra threads at the start and at the end so that you can pull them together to shape the gathers. Sew below the stitching allowance so that when you stitch together the front pieces, the gather’s stitch isn’t visible. STEP 5 STEP 3 Lay and pin the pieces N°1 right sides together with piece N°2 and stitch them. Then lay and pin the fronts right side together with the back piece N°5, stitch the seam sides and the shoulders. Press.
Belt facings N° 4 and 6: start with ironing the sides of the pieces towards the inside and stitch from 7mm of the edge. Lay and pin the top and bottom edges front facing N°4 and back N°6 on the top Tulle, folding the top and bottom edges over to the inside (1cm). The back piece N°4 shows the facing markings, so you can mark these with a chalk on the fabric. Topstitch on each side, leaving the sides opened and unstitched, in order to let the belt go through.
