Kieslowski, encore plus loin ! France, 2012 : the new book about Krzysztof Kieslowski

Much farther, a new journey with Krzysztof Kieslowski! This new book (spring 2012) will be the continuation of Kieslowski, encore plus loin (since Febr. 2010, available in specialized and on-line bookshops on www.Kieslowski.eu). On the back page of Kieslowski, another Glance, we had left the director on the platform of a station in Poland. A wave of his hand, a smile... Let's go one more time on tracks! Kieslowski, encore plus loin! means travelling and meeting places and people: Poland, Switzerland, France... A journey in the trail left by its movies, until our days, in the corpus of events, debates and theses about Kieslowski, and, of course, on the set. The last stage of these new inquiries was the village of Sokolowsko, where a big Hommage was organized at the end of September 2011, and a Museum and archives dedicated to the director are under construction in the Sanatorium (he lived child there, in the South of Poland)… After a brief portrait, an overview of events devoted to Kieslowski in Ireland, Poland, France… “Kieslowski, encore plus loin / much farther!” is based on new talks with Kieslowski's collaborators and other professionals (see below), a lot of documents -most of them unpublished- collected for ten years of kieslowskian hommages and retrospectives. Kieslowski's last European works are especially concerned (far to the West and definitively into features film): Dekalog and Three Colours. The book is synthetic, clear, updated. Talks in Warszawa-Krakow-Sokolowsko-Paris-Switzerland, translations from polish by Katarzyna Ozga and Lena Korzeniewska. The book will be published spring 2012.
