Lucinda Bateman, MD

Dr. Bateman trained at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, completed an Internal Medicine residency at the University of Utah and worked as a general internist for nine years. During that time she recognized the need for diagnosis and treatment of multisymptom illnesses like CFS and fibromyalgia (FMS) and in 2000 she created the Fatigue Consultation Clinic (FCC). As an adjunct to the clinic she established a Clinical Research Department and started a nonprofit organization, OFFER, with the aim to promote research regarding CFS and FMS. She has served on the boards of The International Association of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (IACFS/ME) and The CFIDS Association of America. Dr. Bateman is currently a member of the national DHHS Advisory Committee on CFS. In 2014 she was appointed to a committee at the Institute of Medicine on contract from the NIH to create ME/CFS clinical diagnostic criteria. Dr. Bateman is the Medical Director of OFFER and in 2015, OFFER rebranded as the Bateman Horne Center (BHC). It now assumes responsibility for patients and research programs of the FCC. In 2016 she was awarded the Governor Rudy Perpich Award by the IACFS/ME for her contributions to the field.

D Bateman est diplômée de l’école de médecine Johns Hopkin, a réalisé sa résidence en médecine interne à l’Université de l’Utah et travaillé comme interniste générale pendant neuf ans. Pendant ces années, elle a reconnu la nécessité de diagnostiquer et de traiter les maladies multisymptomatiques comme le SFC et la fibromyalgie. En 2000, elle créait la Fatigue Consultation Clinic (FCC), annexée à un département de recherche clinique, et fondait un organisme sans but lucratif, l’OFFER, pour re promouvoir la recherche sur le SFC et la fibromyalgie.
