One ex-Gasolheads singing, two ex-Dollybird and one Plastic Congelators playing bass… They are from Marseille, France. Skinny punque-roque! Minimal, basic, melodic and angry. Pagans, Angry Samoans, Buzzcocks, Pistols, these are the names most frequently dropped! Le Pink everywhere! Hate everywhere! Sunglasses everywhere! „We are le Hatepink babe, we hate the world yeah babe!” Wissen Sie, es gibt einige Bands, denen sollte man ihre Instrumente wirklich wegnehmen. Wenn Sie eine Platte wie die von den Hatepinks hören, bleibt ihnen nur noch eine große Plastiktüte über den Kopf zu ziehen und auf’s Ende zu warten. Dieses Gefühl ist wesentlich angenehmer als diese Scheiße zu hören. Wirklich schnell, blechern, repetitive Musik mit kreischendem Gesang. Traurig ist, dass einige da draußen denken dies wäre wunderbar. You know, there are some bands that really need their instruments taken away from them. When you get releases like the Hatepinks do, you really do want to get a thick plastic bag, put it over your head and wait for the end. The feeling you'd get from that (including the finality of the process) would be better than subjecting yourself to this shit. Really fast, tinny, repetitive music with screechy vocals. Sad thing is that there will be some out there thinking this is godlike.
Feedback: Punk Planet - … Every release that the Hatepinks are on are essential modern garage rock nuggets with many nods to a wild, blitzed out '77 sound. ... Maximum R’n’R - With a song called “I'm a Gimmick (New Wave Punk is Fuquing Shit)” it's quite easy to see me and these French bastards are going to be friends. ... Razorcake - ... If you like'em Killed By Death, you'll love this! San Diego Core - ... The songs on this 12ep are catchy as hell, and punk as shit. A little effects on the vocals, and almost no effects on the guitars give this a sound harkening back to bands you would find on Killed By Death comps or Powerpearls. And hey! Look at that! They cover Bad Brains’ “Redbone in the City!” Definitely an unexpected cover! Catchy, energetic, and punk to boot! 3rd Generation Nation - … Die Band ist abgedrehter als vergleichbare US Punk Bands der Westküste. Irgendwie mehr Dreck, Drogen, Sex und Verrücktheit. … OX Fanzine - … Der Sound der Band pendelt immer noch zwischen den Bands auf Rip Off Records und denen auf Dirtnap, die HATEPINKS tragen immer noch Krawatten, bunte Sonnebrillen und hübsche Badges und Sänger Olivier hat immer noch seinen charmanten französischen Akzent. … OX Fanzine - … Diese Franzosen kommen, im Gegensatz zu vielen anderen Bands aus der frankophilen Zone, auch ohne den oft peinlichen „Exotenbonus“ aus (jahaa, Frankreich ist exotisch!) und machen einfach Spaß. Selbst die Coverversion des Bad Brains-Songs „Redbone in the city“ passt perfekt. Absolut hörenswert!
