Nationality: Italian DOB: 25/6/76 in Savona, Italy Highly motivated computer engineer with strong interpersonal skills and analytical acumen. Significant experience in digital imaging, databases and semantic tools applied to visual art and medical applications. In depth knowledge of all stages of the software engineering life cycle. Fluent in English, French, Spanish with Italian as native language. Having worked with and managed several international project teams. I have a proved track of successes showing a high degree of adaptability with different cultures and organizations. I am confident I could offer a solid contribution to your organisation. Professional Experiences 2003

Centre de Recherche et de Restauration des Musées de France France C2RMF, CNRS UMR 171, Paris, Palais du Louvre Researcher/Developer During these years I've been involved in European and French national projects, where I have acquired knowledge in multiple fields: - 3D acquisition methods (using laser scanner, structured light, photogrammetry and stereography), postprocessing (Rapidform, Pointstream) and modelling (blender). I've defined an acquisition protocol for 3D digitization of artworks that is now in use at the C2RMF and I scan using different instruments (Arius3D laser scanner, Minolta 910i, Breuckmann Tritos, photogrammetry); - database administration and optimization. I've adapted the C2RMF database to be used with semantic search interfaces. I have mapped the Cultural Heritage content using mainly the CIDOC-CRM ontology (and also SKOS, CRM-core...) after have restructured the database to be fully relational; - content base retrieval, for both 2D and 3D digital content. I have helped in investigating new way of indexing for Cultural Heritage content; - crypting and watermarking techniques. I have studied the psychological and visual impact of watermarking algorithm before to integrate them in the C2RMF system - image treatment and analysis (high resolution, multispectral, xray, infrared...); - project administration. in charge of the database and network administration and I also mentor/supervise Physics and Computer science university students during their work placements.

2001-2003

Università degli studi di Udine Administration department, Udine System administrator and consultant I've developed an administrative tool in VisualBasic based on MSOffice.

Occasionally I work as consultant for IT survey, networking and digital imaging.

Research & Development IST EPOCH-NOE (http://epoch-net.org/): project and applications developer and tester. I have participated in workshops investigating R&D guidelines and standards for the use of ICT in the Cultural Heritage field. IST CRISATEL: research of tools and techniques for acquisition and analysis of multispectral images. The methods developed during the research have been applied especially to the Joconda painting. IST SCULPTEUR: Integration of the C2RMF multimedia collection in the Sculpteur web application server involving several international partners: National Gallery, Victoria and Albert Museum and the Uffizi. Also, research and development of new systems for visualizing and browsing both metadata and images on the web. This work involved the production of a large amount of 3D models of works of art. ANR TSAR: Studying and developing tools for image rights protection (DRM) during transmission and watermarking. I've integrated the results of these studies in the C2RMF database after have done a study of the psycho-visual impact. ANR ART3D and ANR EROS3D: Generating 3D models by the use of different techniques like structured light, direct laser scanning acquisition, photogrammetry and multistereo. The findings of these research projects are published in several scientific publications presented in international conferences and published in proceedings. I've also contributed as author at the books: "Au coeur de la Joconde" and "La Joconde: essay scientifique". Education & Qualifications 2007: Master 2 in Computer Science specializing in Digital Imaging, University of Paris VI (Université Pierre et Marie Curie) in collaboration with the École Nationale Supérieure de Télécommunication and École Normal Supérieure de Paris. Thesis title: “Acquisition, reconstruction et interpretations d’objets 3D pour les musées” (Acquisition, reconstruction and interpretation of 3D objects in Cultural Heritage) 2005: BSc in Computer Science, University of Udine, Italy. Thesis title: “Internet Imaging, visualizzazione di immagini ad alta definizione attraverso il web” (Internet Imaging, high definition images visualisation through the web). 2003: University work placement, 3 month, Java developer at the C2RMF in Paris, France 2000: Computer Science and Numerical Calculations, University of Valencia, SOCRATES EU exchange project, Spain 1995: Diploma in "ragionere programmatore", Italy. Equivalent to "A" levels in Accounting and Computer science Languages Italian: native language French: fluent written and spoken English: fluent written and spoken Spanish: fluent written and spoken Russian: beginner
