Any defective or misadjusted components in the interlock, monitor, door seal, and microwave generation and transmission systems shall be repaired, replaced, or adjusted by procedures described in service manual before the oven is released to the owner. e. A microwave leakage check to verify compliance with the Federal Performance Standard (CSA in Canada) should be performed on each oven prior to release to the owner. f. TROUBLESHOOTING Do not continue with the diagnostics of appliance if the household fuse is blown, a circuit breaker is tripped or if there is less than 120-volt power supply at the wall outlet. Complete the following steps before checking microwave oven circuitry: 1. Unplug microwave oven or disconnect power. 2. Check for loose wiring or incorrect wiring within microwave oven.

3. All testing must be done with an ohmmeter having a sensitivity of 20,000 ohms per volt DC or greater, and powered by at least a 9-volt battery. 4. All operational checks using microwave energy must be done with the microwave oven loaded with a minimum of 8 oz (250 mL) of water in a microwave safe container.

Control Panel Control Panel and Electronic Control Test The built-in microwave oven is provided with a self-diagnostic routine that can be accessed through the control panel keypad.
To initiate this routine: 1. 2. 3. 4.
Unplug microwave oven or disconnect power. Open the microwave oven door. Press and hold STOP. Plug in microwave oven or reconnect power. All LCD segments will be lit to indicate the test mode has been entered. 5. Release the STOP button and close the door.
NOTES: ■ If the STOP button is pressed during this diagnostic routine, you will exit the test mode. ■ When entering the test mode with the function selector set to Off, the cavity light will not turn on. ■ With the door open, pressing any key, turning the function selector or setting dial will set all ouputs to off.

Microwave Oven Power Output Test 1. Place 8 oz (250 mL) of lukewarm water in the center of the microwave oven. 2. Operate on HIGH power level for 4 minutes. Water should be hot.
NOTE: If the water takes longer than 4 minutes to heat, this may indicate either the operating voltage is lower than 110 volts or there is a problem with the microwave oven.

Checking Inverters Measure Oven Input Current If more than 0.5A: The MW inverter is probably OK. Check the magnetron. See Magnetron test in “Component Tests.”

If less than 0.5A: Ampères Connect an ammeter (Valhalla Scientific 2101 or equivalent recommended) to measure the input current of microwave oven when the power level is set to Level 10 at the control panel.
There is no input to the MW inverter. Check the following: 1. Unplug microwave oven or disconnect power. 2. No AC voltage supply. Check electronic control and wiring. 3. No control signal. Check electronic control and wiring.

DÉPANNAGE Ne pas poursuivre le diagnostic de l'appareil si le fusible est grillé, si un disjoncteur est ouvert, ou si la tension d'alimentation de la prise murale est inférieure à 120 volts. Exécuter les opérations suivantes avant de contrôler les circuits du four à micro-ondes : 1. Débrancher le four à micro-ondes ou déconnecter la source de courant électrique. 2. Rechercher des fils du four à micro-ondes mal connectés ou déconnectés.
3. Exécuter tous les contrôles avec un ohmmètre à résistance interne de 20 000 ohms par volt CC ou plus, alimenté par une pile d’au moins 9 volts. 4. Pour tous les contrôles impliquant la génération de microondes, on doit placer à l’intérieur du four au moins 8 oz (250 mL) d’eau dans un récipient compatible avec les micro-ondes.

Tableau de commande Test du tableau de commande et de la carte des circuits de commande La four à micro-ondes encastré comporte un système d’autodiagnostic commandé par l’intermédiaire du clavier.
Pour exécuter le processus : 1. Débrancher le four à micro-ondes ou déconnecter la source de courant électrique. 2. Ouvrir la porte du four à micro-ondes. 3. Appuyer sur la touche STOP. 4. Brancher le four à micro-ondes ou reconnecter la source de courant électrique. Tous les segments LCD seront allumés pour indiquer que le mode test est en cours. 5. Lâcher la touche STOP et fermer la porte.
REMARQUES : ■ Si on appuie sur la touche STOP pendant ce diagnostic, le mode de test est annulé. ■ Lorsque l’on entre au mode de test avec le sélecteur de fonction placé à Off (arrêt), la lampe de la cavité ne s’allume pas. ■ En gardant la porte ouverte, appuyer sur n’importe quelle touche, tourner le sélecteur de fonction ou régler le bouton de réglage entraînera l’arrêt de toutes les sorties.
Tableau des touches pour le mode de test REMARQUE : Activer les touches et tourner un bouton de réglage pour vérifier les fonctions en fonction du tableau cidessous. Le résultat de toutes les actions restera actif jusqu’à ce qu’une nouvelle action soit choisie. Tous les relais restent activés jusqu’à l’exécution de l’action suivante ou jusqu’à l’expiration du délai maximal. Test de la puissance du four à micro-ondes 1. Placer un récipient d'eau tiède (8 oz [250 mL]) au centre du four. 2. Faire fonctionner le four au niveau de puissance maximum (HIGH) pendant 4 minutes. L'eau devrait être chaude.
REMARQUE : Si plus de 4 minutes sont nécessaires pour chauffer l'eau, il se peut que le voltage soit inférieur à 110 volts ou qu'il y ait un problème avec le four à microondes.
Identification des codes de défaillance REMARQUE : De nombreux problèmes reportés dans le tableau ci-dessous peuvent être résolus en arrêtant et relançant l'alimentation électrique : débrancher le four à micro-ondes ou déconnecter la source de courant électrique. Après une minute, brancher le four à micro-ondes ou reconnecter la source de courant électrique.

Après une panne d’électricité, on observe le clignotement du “:”. Appuyer sur une touche quelconque pour mettre fin au clignotement. L’affichage devient stable (mode d’attente).

1. Débrancher le four à micro-ondes ou déconnecter la source de courant électrique. 2. Vérifier qu’il n’y a pas de touche bloquée (bouton). Le code d’erreur doit disparaître lorsque l’on relâche cette touche. 3. Remplacer le tableau de commande tactile. 4. Replacer pièces et panneaux avant de faire la remise en marche. 5. Brancher le four à micro-ondes ou reconnecter la source de courant électrique. 6. Si le problème persiste, débrancher le four à micro-ondes ou déconnecter la source de courant électrique. 7. Remplacer la carte des circuits de commande. 8. Replacer pièces et panneaux avant de faire la remise en marche. 9. Brancher le four à micro-ondes ou reconnecter la source de courant électrique.
Tests des composants IMPORTANT : ■ Débrancher le four à micro-ondes ou déconnecter la source de courant électrique. ■ Avant d’exécuter les tests suivants, débrancher les fils de connexion du composant. ■ Pour tous les contrôles impliquant la génération de micro-ondes, on doit placer à l’intérieur du four au moins 8 oz (250 mL) d’eau dans un récipient compatible avec les micro-ondes. ■ Après tout test ou réparation du four à micro-ondes, exécuter un test de contrôle de l’énergie émise par les micro-ondes.
■ Avant de faire fonctionner le four à micro-ondes, vérifier que tous les fils du câblage sont à la position correcte. ■ Pour débrancher les conducteurs des composants du four à micro-ondes, saisir chaque connecteur. ■ Exécuter tous les contrôles avec un ohmmètre à résistance interne de 20 000 ohms par volt CC ou plus, alimenté par une pile d’au moins 9 volts.

Contrôle des onduleurs Mesure du courant à l’entrée du four Si on mesure plus de 0,5 A : L’onduleur de micro-ondes est probablement correctement allimenté. Contrôler le magnétron. Voir le test du magnétron à la section “Tests des composants”.

Si on mesure moins de 0,5 A :
Ampères Connecter un ampèremètre (Valhalla Scientific 2101 recommandé ou modèle équivalent) pour mesurer l’intensité du courant d’entrée du four à micro-ondes lorsque le niveau de puissance est réglé au Niveau 10 sur le tableau de commande.
L’onduleur de micro-ondes n’est pas alimenté. Vérifier ce qui suit : 1. Débrancher le four à micro-ondes ou déconnecter la source de courant électrique. 2. Aucune alimentation en tension alternative. Contrôler la carte des circuits électroniques et les branchements. 3. Aucun signal de contrôle. Contrôler la carte des circuits électroniques et les branchements.

Contrôle des branchements de l’onduleur de microondes : 1. Débrancher le four à micro-ondes ou déconnecter la source de courant électrique. 2. Inspecter visuellement les 4 connecteurs sur le circuit onduleur de micro-ondes (CN701, CN702, CN703, E701) pour détecter les signes de surchauffe ou toute autre anomalie due à des fils mal branchés, un mauvais sertissage, etc.
