The strength of the collections lies in the Colonial period and most particularly, in the Early Republican period. Most of the microfilms and microfiches were purchased by Prof. Elise Marienstras. Black history documents were purchased by Prof. Geneviève Fabre, some with the help of the Florence Gould Foundation. Microfilm readers as well as a readex microprint reader are available at the Resource center.
