Greater Comfort in the Field — A The AJ-HDC20A brings superb mobility to HD EFP/ENG and serves as an outstanding recording system. About the same size and weight as the DVCPRO50 and DVCPRO camera/recorder, this compact unit offers low power consumption, records a full 46 minutes of 1080i HD images onto a single 1/4" tape, and provides 2-channel digital audio. A high-density, 2,200,000-pixel, 2/3" FIT CCD assures remarkable HD picture quality.

1/4" DVCPRO HD Format The new DVCPRO HD format brings DVCPRO's many advantages to HD production environments. Thanks to the small 1/4" tape and ultracompact mechanism, DVCPRO HD equipment is compact and lightweight, and running costs are low. A high-density 100 Mbps video recording system and high-efficiency compression algorithm achieve a level of picture quality.
Small Size, Light Weight, Low Power Consumption The compact AJ-HDC20A features a main unit that weighs only about 9.5 lbs. It is only about 15.4 lbs in full operating condition — about the same as DVCPRO camera/recorders for the current TV system. Power consumption is low, too — about 29 W — which ensures greater battery reliability in the field.
46 Minutes of High-Quality HD Recording A 100-Mbps video recording rate and high-efficiency compression combine to deliver outstanding HD images with 1080i effective scanning lines. A single small 1/4" DVCPRO HD cassette provides up to 46 minutes of high-quality recording.
The AJ-HDC20A provides 2 lines of HD SDI output, for use with a playback monitor or for line or back-up recording.
Scene File on Multi Media Card The camera's setup file can be saved on a Multi media card. Creating and saving a variety of files lets you quickly and easily adapt the camera to different shooting situations. This feature also provides unprecedented ease when setting up two or more cameras with the same parameters.
Synchro-Scan Electronic Shutter The electronic shutter offers speeds of 1/100, 1/120, 1/250, 1/500, 1/1000 and 1/2000 sec, plus synchro-scan capability (1/30.3 to 1/58.8, 1/61.1 to 1/250.2 sec).

Quiet Operation The DVCPRO HD camera/recorder features a unique design in which the head cylinder rotates at 9,000 rpm, the same as DVCPRO50 units. This means that during recording, operation is just as quiet as with DVCPRO50 units. Rear Connector Panel
