New Firmware Features Please note that the firmware download program is for Microsoft Windows® 98/SE/ME/2000/XP only. i. More ID3 tags displayed: “Title”, “Album name” and “Artist” of a MP3/WMA file will be displayed. Please note these fields must be input while encoding the music source files. (002.511.103) ii. User-selected default character set: Users can select default character set of the device: (002.511.103) Operation procedures: Switch to “Music” mode. Pause playing. Press button “Vol+” to chose default character set from the options of “ISO-8859-1”(for Western European) and “Traditional Chinese”. Languages included in “ISO-8859-1” character set:

Enforcing “MONO” mode for a given FM channel: You can hop between “Mono” and “System-selected”(Stereo/Mono) modes for a given FM channel.(002.511.103) Operation procedures: Switch to “FM” mode. Press both “Vol+” and “Vol-“buttons simultaneously to choose between “Forced Mono” and “System-selected” modes (Stereo/Mono). FM mode indicator: “Stereo”: System selected “Stereo” mode. “Mono”: System selected “Mono” mode. “Mono-F”: User enforced “Mono” mode. Resume from the point of power-off: Turning on the device, it will start from the point where you power off. (002.511.101) Extended FM frequency range: The device now received Radio frequency ranged from 76MHz to 108 MHz. For Japanese users, you could set frequency to the range of 76MHz – 91MHz. For the other global users, please set the frequency to 87.5MHz –108MHz. (002.511.101) Finer FM frequency step size: The minimum frequency stepping size is 50KHz. (002.511.101) Storing 10 pre-set FM radio channels: You could now store 10 pre-set channels. (002.511.101)

Outline of operation procedures i. Please backup the files stored in the Red Rock S21 before firmware updating. ii. Please download the application and firmware from TwinMOS’s web site: iii. Decompress (unzip) the package into a target directory. iv. Install the firmware download program. v. Plug the Red Rock into a USB port of your computer. vi. Execute the firmware download program. vii. Unplug Red Rock by following the safe removal procedures.

Operation Procedures Please backup the files stored in the Red Rock S21 before firmware updating. 3.1 Download the application and firmware from the TwinMOS’s web site. 3.1.1 Please visit web site http://www.twinmos.com.tw/ 3.1.2 Search and download files “xxx.zip”. 3.2 Decompress (unzip) the package into a target directory. 3.2.1 3.2.2
Please decompress (unzip) the zip file “xxx.zip” into a target directory. For examples, given the target directory is “C:\TEMP”, a new folder “TwinMOS_S21” was created in it.
3.3 Install the firmware download program 3.3.1
Install the firmware download program by double-clicking the icon “setup.exe”

3.4 Plug the device into a USB port of your computer 3.5 Execute the firmware download program 3.5.1
Locate the firmware download program from Windows program menu.
3.5.2 Make sure the Red Rock S21 was plugged into the USB port of a computer 3.5.3 Execute the “Firmware Download” program. 3.5.4 Check the option box “Format Data Area”, if you want to format the device. Doing so will erase all the files stored. Click on button “Start” to proceed.

Click on button “Close” after the firmware was downloaded to the Red Rock.

3.6 Unplug Red Rock by following the safe removal procedure
