SUBJECT : WDS X-POD Firmware Upgrade Instructions

SD-CARD set-up In order to avoid compatibility issues it’s highly recommended to use the SD-CARDs provided by MyRay. The SD-CARD must be correctly formatted to work properly with the X-POD : -

File System : FAT (not FAT32) Allocation unite size : Default Volume label : do not leave it blank, put a valid string (e.g. “XPOD”)

For a correct set-up procedure, it is suggested to format the SD-CARD in a conventional SD-CARD reader. N.B. : when provided directly by our Post-Sales office the SD-CARDs are ALREADY set with the firmware update file and two sample folders. In this case DO NOT format it and go to step 3 of this instructions. 2

Copy the file xpod.zip in the SD-CARD Copy the file “xpod.zip” you received in the SD-CARD root. You can download it in the Cefla extranet area http://extranetdentale.cefla.it at the menu-path : “AfterSales” → “Firmware” under the category : “X-POD Firmware Update”. Please note that the file name must be exactly “xpod.zip”. If you do not have a dedicated SD-CARD reader, for this step you can use the X-POD USB connectivity : turn off the X-POD insert the SD-CARD in the X-POD turn it on plug his Micro-USB cable in a available USB port wait until the SD-CARD volume (with its proper label) appears among the PC’s units list use it as a normal external disk, dragging the xpod.zip file into the root of the SD-CARD and waiting for the file to be copied. After that turn off the X-POD and unplug it.

Firmware update on X-POD start-up The X-POD must be turned off. Insert the SD-CARD with the “xpod.zip” file in the X-POD and switch it on. The firmware update runs automatically at the start-up : the X-POD screen remains black and the LED blinks yellow. Wait for a while, after that X-POD boots and you will see the usual start-up screen. Check that the version you see at the bottom of the initial screen is the same you downloaded from the extranet site. If upgrade fails, please double-check : the name of “xpod.zip” file is correct the xpod.zip has not be corrupted during the download the xpod.zip has been copied in the root of the SD-CARD unit the SD-CARD has been correctly formatted you are not trying to update a DEMO unit
