Nucomm CamPac 2 HD/SD Wireless Camera Transmitter Receives TV Technology “STAR” Award at NAB 2006 Just One of 40 Products Recognized for Technology Innovation (Hackettstown, NJ April 28, 2006) -- Nucomm today announced that TV Technology magazine has recognized its CamPac 2 by awarding it a “STAR” Award for technology innovation. Nucomm’s next generation COFDM camera-back transmitter, the CamPac 2 designed to deliver the highest quality HD or SD video for electronic news gathering or sports coverage. With on-board triple-pass MPEG-2 encoding, and software upgradeability to MPEG4/H.264, the CamPac 2 is ideal for operations that intend to migrate to MPEG4. Nucomm introduced the CamPac at the NAB Conference, April 24-27, 2006. Designed in a stylish rugged machined housing the CamPac 2 is a great choice for everyday news operations. Available in the 1.99-2.7 GHz and 6.4-7.1 GHz bands, the CamPac 2 operates with DVB-T compliant modulation in 6, 7, and 8 MHz channels. For maximum flexibility, the CamPac 2 also supports COFDM operation in channel bandwidths from 4 to 24 MHz. RF output power is programmable from 10 to 200 mW. The Nucomm CamPac 2 accepts a variety of video formats, including SDI, component, and composite, as well as DVB-ASI for repeating applications. For HD applications, the CamPac 2 supports 720P and 1080i encoding, in either 4:2:0 or 4:2:2. The CamPac 2 also offers SD outputs for PAL and NTSC, with 4:2:0 and 4:2:2 MPEG2 encoding. Various audio configurations are supported by the Nucomm CamPac 2, with dual audio inputs, configurable for mic or line level, or as AES/EBU digital audio. Audio levels are easily set using the programmable gain and displayed on the color TFT display as digital VU meters. For operating ease and flexibility, the CamPac 2 can be remotely controlled via RS-232/RS-485 using a PDA or a PC, and the camera control panel can be removed allowing remote operation from up to 100 feet away. Nucomm offers the CamPac 2 for a range of professional video camera applications, using integrated battery adapter plates for standard IDX and Anton Bauer batteries.
