These different types of weather are categorized into seasons. We have four seasons and each season has different types of weather. FALL/AUTUMN In fall, it’s cool. In fall, it’s windy. In fall, the leaves change color.

WINTER In winter, it’s cloudy. In winter, it’s cold. In winter, it’s snowy. In the winter it’s snowy. SPRING In spring, it’s warm. In spring, the flowers bloom. In spring, it’s windy.

SUMMER In summer, it’s hot. In summer, it’s rainy. In summer, it’s sunny.

Language Tip 3-5 minutes “Fall” is commonly used in the United States. In other countries, the months before winter and after summer are called “Autumn.”

Seasons 5-10 minutes 

When talking about the weather, use the following form: The weather is… For example: The weather is cool. The weather is sunny. The weather is warm.



When talking about the weather for “today,” use the following form: Today the weather is… For example: Today the weather is rainy. Today the weather is cloudy. Today the weather is cool.



When talking about the weather in a season, use the following form: In (summer) it’s… For example: In summer, it’s hot. In winter, it’s cold. In spring, it’s sunny.



To ask about the weather, use the question: How is the weather?
