Stanley Friedman

tanley Friedman (*1951) s’est distingué dans différents secteurs du monde musical. Après son doctorat en composition à l’Eastman School of Music, ses oeuvres ont été créées par l’Ensemble InterContemporain de Paris, la Los Angeles Philharmonic Chamber Music Society, et le New Zealand Symphony Orchestra. Son premier opéra «Hypatia», créé en concert lors du Festival international des Arts de Nouvelle Zélande, fut unanimement acclamé par le public, les interprètes et la presse. Trompettiste professionnel, Stanley Friedman a joué avec le Los Angeles Philharmonic et, comme trompette solo avec l’Orchestre philharmonique d’Israël, l’Orchestre symphonique de Nouvelle Zélande et le Hong Kong Philharmonic. En 1989, son CD «The Lyric Trumpet» (ODE Records, #1327), a obtenu le Prix du disque en Nouvelle Zélande et lui a valu des critiques élogieuses dans les magazines spécialisés. Stanley Friedman se produit en récital et donne des cours de maître dans le monde entier. En tant que chef d’orchestre, Stanley Friedman interprète ou enregistre sa propre musique et celle d’autres compositeurs américains. Il vit actuellement aux État-Unis et poursuit une carrière de compositeur, de chef d’orchestre tout en continuant à jouer de la trompette et à enseigner cet instrument à l’Interlochen Arts Academy. Son oeuvre «Solus» pour trompette seule est un succès mondial et figure régulièrement au programme des grands concours internationaux de trompette.

tan­ley Fried­man (*1951) has dis­tin­ guished him­self in sev­er­al dif­fer­ent mu­si­cal fields. Af­ter com­plet­ing a Doc­to­rate in com­po­si­tion at the East­ man School of Mu­sic, he em­barked on a com­pos­ing ca­reer which has led to pre­miers by En­sem­ble Inter­con­tem­po­ rain in Par­is, the Los An­geles Phil­har­ mon­ic Cham­ber Mu­sic So­ci­ety, and the New Zea­land Sym­pho­ny Or­ches­tra. In 1992 Stanley Fried­man’s first op­era “Hy­ pa­tia” was pre­miered in con­cert at the New Zea­land Inter­na­tion­al Fes­ti­val of the Arts, earn­ing en­thu­sias­tic praise from au­di­ence, per­form­ers, and crit­ics alike. As a pro­fes­sion­al trum­pet­er, Stanley Fried­man has per­formed with the Los An­geles Phil­har­mon­ic and as Prin­ci­ pal with the Is­rael Phil­har­mon­ic, the New Zea­land Sym­pho­ny, and the Hong Kong Phil­har­mon­ic. His solo CD, “The Lyr­ic Trum­pet” (ODE Records, #1327), won Clas­si­cal Record of 1989 hon­ours at the New Zea­land Mu­sic Awards and has been crit­i­cal­ly ac­claimed in lead­ing inter­na­tion­al brass pub­li­ca­tions. Fried­ man is pre­senting solo re­ci­tals and mas­ ter­class­es around the world. As a conductor Stanley Fried­man has di­rect­ed con­certs and re­cord­ings of his own mu­sic and that of oth­er Amer­i­can com­pos­ers. Now based in the Unit­ed States, Stanley Fried­man is pur­su­ing a ca­ reer as com­pos­er/con­duc­tor while con­ tin­u­ing to per­form and teach the trum­pet at the Interlochen Arts Academy. His piece for solo trum­pet “So­lus” has be­come a world suc­cess and is reg­u­lar­ ly pro­grammed at inter­na­tion­al trum­pet com­pe­ti­tions.

Sei­ne Solo-CD “The Ly­ric Trum­pet” (ODE Re­cords, #1327), er­hielt den Clas­si­cal Re­cord Award und gute Kri­ti­ken in in­ter­na­tio­na­len Blech­blä­serFach­zeit­schrif­ten. Stanley Fried­man gibt Solo-Re­zi­tals und Mei­ster­kur­se rund um die Welt. Er dirigiert und macht Auf­nah­men von sei­nen ei­ge­nen aber auch von Wer­ken an­de­rer ame­ri­ka­ni­scher Kom­po­ni­sten. Lebt jetzt in den USA wo er kom­po­niert, di­ri­giert, Trom­pe­te spielt und lehrt (Interlochen Arts Academy). Sein Stück für Trom­pe­te allein “So­lus” wur­de zum Welt­er­folg und wird re­gel­ mäs­sig an in­ter­na­tio­na­len Wett­be­wer­ben pro­gam­miert.
