Grands Vins de Bordeaux
Château Le Doyenné
Premières Côtes de Bordeaux - 2003 Robert Parker says of Chateau Le Doyenné 2001: One of the finest, consistently well-made, less expensive Bordeaux offerings (thanks to the abilities of consulting oenologist Michel Rolland), this blend of 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc reveals a dark ruby color in addition to a big, spicy, perfumed nose of cedar, fruit cake, spice box, and red as well as black currants. It possesses admirable texture, supple tannin, and a fruit-driven personality with no hard edges. Enjoy it over the next 2-3 years.
The Vineyard : The Vineyard of Château le Doyenné is a single parcel of vines which is surprisingly rare! Dominique Watrin uses Classified Growth winemaking techniques to make her famous wine. It is often recognised as one of the finest wines of its category by Robert Parker. A touch of Michel Rolland’s genious goes into the winemaking. •Surface : 8 Hectares •Gravel plateau surrounded by clay/chalk hills. •Average age of vines : 40 ans •Southern facing vineyard •Yield : 40 hl / ha Harvest : •Manual de-leafing followed by a manual harvest and sorting process •All of the harvesting is carried out by parcel to stay true to the quality of each soil type and grape variety.
Winemaking : All in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks. Grape Varieties : •70% Merlots •20% Cabernet Sauvignon •10 % Cabernet Franc •5500 pieds / Ha Ageing : •In oak barrels : 30% new oak, 30% 1 year old barrels. •Fining with egg white.

Château Bournac
Médoc - Cru Bourgeois - 2005
In 2003, the hard work paid dividends as Chateau Bournac was awarded «Cru Bourgeois Superieur» status in the re-classification of Crus Bourgeois. Although not many publications have begun to write about the 2004’s, past vintages have been commented upon by Robert Parker, and Château Bournac has figured among the best purchases according to Decanter Magazine.
The Vineyard : •Surface : 14 Hectares •Average age of vines 25 years •Chalky clay soil Harvest : The grapes are machine harvested and manually sorted in the cellars On the vines : The Château performs a ‘Green Harvest’ to reduce the number of grapes feeding from the vine, and de – leafing to allow maximum exposure to the sun for the remaining grapes which leads to optimum maturity.
Vinification : •In thermorgulated stainless steel vats. Grape Varieties : •65% Cabernet Sauvignon •35% Merlots Ageing : The wine is aged in oak barrels – of which 40% is new oak - for 12 months

Grands Vins de Bordeaux
Château Moulin de Canhaut Médoc - 2004
4,75 €
We are delighted to be able to propose you this wine as one of our new exclusivities having bought the entire production of this wine from the 2004 vintage. Our first 2 vintages have already has success in the Paris tasting competition, receiving a bronze medal in 2004 and a gold in 2005.
The Vineyard The vineyard stands upon the most northern gravel hills of the Médoc. The fi ne Garonne gravel terroir and the proximity to the Garonne river makes it no surprise that Jean Guillaume Prats of Château Cos d’Estournel chose the vines from this area to make his Goulée – a Bordeaux that has an ex cellar value of around 20€ a bottle. Production : 12 Hectares Soil : Grave Girondine Average age of vines :20 years
Grape Varieties 50 % Merlot 50 % Cabernet Sauvignon
Winemaking The property makes all of its wines with care and attention. From the work in the vineyard which strives to be as free from any chemical products as possible and the use of green harvests, through to the cellar where a yield of just 50 hectolitres per hectare makes this wine beautifully concentrated. Ageing : In 1 year old oak barrels

Château Belle Vue
Haut-Médoc - Cru Bourgeois - 2004
Limited Distribution 8,50 €
Robert Parker says in the Wine Advocate issue 165: Potentially better than the 2003, the deep ruby/purple-tinged 2004 (5,000 cases produced) reveals abundant amounts of sweet black cherry fruit intermixed with cedar, spice box, and toasty oak. Dense and medium-bodied with beautiful elegance, purity, and texture, it should drink well for a decade. 88-90 points.
The Vineyard : Château Belle Vue has vines that lie next to the mythical Château Giscours (3rd growth Margaux) Surface : 10 hectares Average age of vines : 26 years (although the oldest vines used date back to 1907) Deep gravel provides excellent drainage and slowly feeds the vines with water which avoids drying out in hot vintages and allows the vines to suffer just enough to produce top quality fruit. Harvest : Grapes are harvested by hand Manual sorting table Grape Varieties : 50% Cabernet Sauvignon 30% Merlot 20% Petit Verdot
Ageing : 16 months 50% new oak – malolactic fermentation in oak barrels. Vinification : Vinification is done by parcels of grapes to ensure the quality and ripeness of the wine. The wine is blended after each vat is rigourously tested.

Grands Vins de Bordeaux
Château Vieux Montagne Montagne Saint Emilion - 2001/02/03/04 BCV buys just 200 cases of this wine and places its own label on the bottles, making Chateau Vieux Montagne one of our most exclusive wines. These strict winemaking practices on this tiny vineyard on wonderful terroir combine to make a wine that is rich in colour, expressive and intense in aromatic concentration and long on the palate. The 2001 is ready to be consumed and enjoyed.
The Vineyard : When Françoise DECAMPS grandfather purchased this property in 1961, there was just 1 hectare of planted vines. Whilst the property has since grown slightly, the same attention goes into the vinification of each individual parcel. The property is just 3km from the town centre of Saint Emilion next to which are such properties as Chateaux Angelus and Canon. Madame DECAMPS has exceptional attention to detail and is very proud of the wine she makes. Surface : 6 hectares Soils : The wonderful mix of clay and chalk that makes Saint Emilion and Pomerol so special. The vines are all south facing for perfect exposure to the sun guaranteeing optimum ripeness and maturity. Vinification : In 80hl temperature controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine is made in these small tanks so that it can pass through the processes of maceration, fermentation and malolactic fermentation parcel by parcel to conserve the expression of each grape variety and different terroir.
Grape Varieties : •80% Merlot – which brings to the wine its deep colour, rich aromatic savours, and volume on the palate. •10% Cabernet Franc – which adds its finesse, freshness and also a small amount of tannins which help the wine to age finely •10% Cabernet Sauvignon – brings a certain spiciness to the wine and adds to the elegant tannic structure. Ageing : 12 months in French oak barrels.

Grands Vins de Bordeaux
Château Lafon La Tuilerie Saint Emilion Grand Cru - 2005
The nose presents hints of black fruit and mint. On the palate this wine shows good structure, ripe fruit and a perfect harmony between the fruit and the oak. The wine is generous, long with mineral and smoky characteristics. The finale shows the freshness of the fine delicate tannins. This is a wonderful wine, racy, classy and elegant.
Pierre Lafon, owner and winemaker at Château Lafon la Tuilerie since the 2000 vintage is not only an incredibly intelligent man, but he is also completely «barking mad» in his pursuit of excellence. An ex mathematician, he knows his parcels of vines and land so well that each vine practically has its own name ! The potential that this vineyard has is defined by the terroir. A continuation of the “Pavie Hill” the vines are south facing for maximum sun exposure planted in wonderful clay – limestone soils. In his minute 2.5 hectare vineyard, Mr LAFON works at a yield of 40 hl/ha – that of some of the top Cru Classés and works everything from the harvest to the sorting – all by hand. The average ages of his vines is 35 years and he blends 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc to make a wine that is so beautifully balanced and fruity on the palate, that it is surely going to receive some fantastic reviews in the near future.
Harvest : - All by hand - Sorting table Vinification : In thermorgulated stainless steel vats. Ageing : 16 months Aged in oak barrels for 14 months – 80% new oak The Vineyard Surface: 2.5 hectares -Soils: Clay/chalk Grape Varieties 90% Merlot 10% Cabernet Franc

Second wine of Château Rouget
Vieux Château Des Templiers
Exclusivity
Pomerol - 2004/2005
WE SAY This is another exclusive wine to Borderac and this quality as an exclusivity from Pomerol is very, very difficult to find. Vieux Château des Templiers is the second wine of the prestigious Chateau Rouget. The film star consultant Michel Rolland has been working with the property since 1997 and has added his special touch to this already superb wine. ROBERT
PAR KER
SAYS
OF
CHATEAU ROUGET «This property has rebounded beautifully over the last few vintages, and is now producing impressive wines. It is the same story repeated elsewhere in Bordeaux over the last 10-15 years - a new owner, more attention to detail, impressive financial investments, and a stricter selection, the confluence of which is a vastly superior product.» «The Wine Advocate» N°. 139 (Feb 2002) A resiny character emerges from the herb, black cherry, white chocolate, and caramelscented bouquet of this ripe, elegant, medium-bodied, fruit-driven Pomerol. Drink it over the next 8-10 years. “The Wine Advocate no 165 june 2006”
The Vineyard : The vines are located on the world-famous Pomerol plateau (where gravel and clay combine to give the mythical Pomerol soil), only a stone’s throw from some of the most celebrated (and most expensive) wines in the entire region (Eglise Clinet, Trotanoy, Petrus, Lafleur) Surface : 18 Hectares Gravel and clay soils enriched with iron Average age of vines : 30 years Production : 1300 cases
Grape Varieties : 85 % Merlot 15 % Cabernet Franc Ageing : 15-18 months in oak barrels Vinification : In 6000 litre wooden vats, each parcel of grapes are vinified together to get the best from the whole vineyard. The wine then completes its vinification procedure in thermo regulated stainless steel vats.
